Premium Australian serum, processed on the Sunshine Coast.
Ambioxera processes raw foetal bovine serum (FBS) from Australian sources for cell culture, research and manufacturing.
Our production and traceability systems track the serum at every step. Every canister is weighed and logged, every pool is linked to the canisters and supplier it originates from, and every carton that leaves our facility can be traced back to its source batch. This gives our customers clear, documented traceability from collection through to the finished product.
We work with laboratories, distributors and manufacturers who need a dependable supply of Australian-origin serum and the documentation to support it.

Questions, answered.
From your first enquiry to frozen cartons at your door, here is how working with us goes.
How does ordering work?
- Tell us what you needVolumes, timing, destination and the documents your import or quality team requires.
- Receive a quoteWe confirm availability, pricing and shipping for your order.
- We pack and ship frozenYour serum is packed into numbered cartons and dispatched frozen.
- Receive with documentsCartons arrive with their packing list and shipping documents.
What comes with each shipment?
A packing list showing every carton, the canisters inside it, their batch number, haemoglobin and endotoxin results, and the supplier. It is your record of analysis for the shipment. We also supply a Certificate of Origin and any health certificates your import permit requires.
What do you test each batch for?
Every batch is tested for haemoglobin and endotoxin before release, and both results are on your packing list. We also keep a retained sample from every canister, so further testing can be done when needed.
How do you trace serum back to its source?
Each carton links to the canisters inside it, each canister to its batch, and each batch to a single supplier and collection date. If you ever have a question about a carton, send us its number and we will answer from our records.
Are you ISIA traceability certified?
Yes. Ambioxera is certified under the International Serum Industry Association’s Traceability Certification Program. An independent auditor assesses our traceability across the supply chain, from collection through to the end user. You can confirm this on the ISIA’s list of certified members.
Why single-supplier batches?
Pooling serum from one supplier at a time keeps each batch’s origin simple to document and easy to audit. We also keep a retained sample from every canister, so individual canisters can be tested later for bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV) or anything else you need.
Do you export outside Australia?
Yes. Tell us your destination country and we will confirm the certificates your import permit requires.
How should serum be stored?
Keep serum frozen, typically at −20 °C or colder, and avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Thaw slowly, for example overnight in a refrigerator, and mix gently before use.
Can we visit or audit your facility?
Yes. Customer audits are welcome. Get in touch and we will arrange a time.
